2006 was an unusual year, especially in the fall as we stayed out east for our annual craft show tour for the duration – 6 ½ weeks straight. But the second weekend was free so we decided to head north from Chantilly, Va., visit lower Pennsylvania and see lots of Civil War sites and museums (see # 97). There just happened to be an interesting town with an interesting theme Merla just had to see – Hershey!
Well, we made our way in to town and found a motel and a laundry – it had been 12 days since leaving home. As I unloaded our pile of clothes, I noticed this unusual odor, it was sort of sweet and ……chocolate? Of course! We toured the shop the next day and brought everyone at home a bar of chocolate direct from its source. Oh yes, I gained 3 lbs that week!
